PLAYER SPOTLIGHT - for the week of mar 2-MAR 8
lainey, 11g evans
Lainey is a 2011 player who helped the 2010 girls this past weekend in their game. This was Lainey's first time playing 9v9 and she did not look out of place. Her defending was very impressive, and she made multiple important tackles to keep us in the game. She listened and adapted very well. She did so well, that the coach was considering playing her as just 1 defender at the back. Well done Lainey, keep up the hard work!
ben, 13b shirazi
Ben played midfield for our 4v4 formation this weekend. He was able to be the successful connector between the defense and offense and was able to translate the coach’s direction to actions on the field that contributed to the team's success in the game. He lead by example of playing very hard on the field, raising the team's level of play. He was also very encouraging of his teammates.
hemi, 08g williams
Hemi had a great week, stepping up to play the entire game in goal in the absence of a keeper. She was calm on the ball, distributed well and was a great organizer back there. Also when the moments arrived, she made some top saves to keep us in the game and earned a positive result.Hemi is always willing to try things and get better. While everything may not always go according to the plan, Hemi never stops trying and showing her support to her teammates. Whether it’s keeper, midfield, defense or attack, Hemi will always put the team first and give it her best effort. She is always vocal with her team mates, uniting everyone together to all come together.
satvik, 09b
Satvik had two great games over the weekend, making some goal saving decisions and tackles that were critical inside the box. He did a great job leading the defense and holding the defensive line and he played some great balls out of the back to start our attack.Satvik gives consistent, all out effort in practices and is always wanting to improve and challenge himself. He is respectful of the coach and asks his other teammates to do the same when they are not focused. He is a very selfless player who plays the position that is asked of him and does not complain as he wants to do what is best for the team. Satvik is a great asset to his team.
