PLAYERs of the month - april 2021

Manav had a marvelous weekend of performances recently, playing every minute of two highly contested matches. He is a fixture on the back line. He showed great character in his response to receiving hard fouls on multiple occasions and quietly picks himself up and goes right back to work, keeping his focus on commitment to the team. The quality of his ball skills frequently allow him to draw fouls which benefit the team. His relentless and sustained work rate is inspiring to our entire team, and he helps unify the team’s effort to stay on the front foot the entire match.

Maddox has continued his excellent season with some standout displays this month. Despite injury and high school soccer, Maddox continues to attend, perform and set the high standards. Maddox is the leader and rock defensively, leading the team to 3 shutouts against the top 2 teams in the division. Not only that, he contributes offensively with important goals. Maddox has been with the club for 7 years and never seeks attention or applause. He is a vital part of the team that all his teammates look to in testing situations, for motivation, quality but most importantly determination.

Reese has been working really hard at practice to improve herself. She is always the first one at practice working on her skills, and she gives her all in the games. She is a very hard worker no matter what position she is playing. Reese has been supportive of her teammates at practice and games. She volunteered to play goalie in the team’s last game and made a lot of amazing saves, playing her heart out in goal even though she was new to the position!
liam, 14b lacy
Liam showed great technique this month by not just kicking the ball away when playing defense, but taking a good first touch and finding his teammates. He is always excited for the team’s success and when someone makes a good save, pass, shot, he is always there congratulating them. When Liam comes off of the field in games he comes and sits right next to the coach listening and asking questions. He shows all of the clubs core values, in particular “Quality”, as he is a great young player and is always looking to be better. He comes to practice and games focused and never misses a beat.
